Initial problem: wear on former stainless steel dosing units in filling systems
In automated filling systems for a wide range of foods and cosmetic media, dosing units are key components. They have to dose highly viscous media such as creams, pastes or richly pigmented lipstick compounds precisely – often every second.
Conventional stainless steel dosing units quickly reach their limits here:
- Abrasive pigments and fillers attack the tools concerned.
- Surfaces become rough, lose their original dimensions due to abrasion, and the resulting dosing becomes inaccurate.
- Frequent tool changes lead to long downtimes and high follow-up costs.
Our customers' requirement was clear: to create a carbide dosing unit that lasts longer under these conditions, can be cleaned hygienically and guarantees constant dosing quantities.
